Danielle Macdonald’s birth took place on 19 May 1991 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She was born as Danielle Louise Macdonald to Italian and Scottish parents. Her father Bill Macdonald is a manager at a shipping company and her mother Franca Macdonald works as an accountant. 

She is not the only child of her parents and has an older sister named Tania Gabrielle Macdonald.

For education, Danielle Macdonald studied at the Australian Institute for Performing Arts in Naremburn, New South Wales. When she was 18 years old, her family moved to the UK while she moved to Los Angeles, the United States to pursue a career in acting in 2010.

Macdonald had been cast in ABC’s Huge as Becca Huffstatter. But her visa did not come in on time and she could not fill the role. After a few minor roles, Danielle Macdonald landed the role of Tess in the 2013 film The East.
