Elaine Hendrix’s birth took place on December 28, 1970, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, USA. She was born Katherine Elaine Hendrix to her father Thomas Hendrix, Jr., who served in the U.S. military, and her mother Mary Elaine DePersio. 

She is not the only child of her parents and has two siblings- brother David Maher and sister Stephanie Smith.

While still a student at her high school, Elaine Hendrix won a model search and landed the opportunity to join the Gary Harrison Dance Co. as a professional dancer. She also got into modeling and worked with companies including Nike, Levi's, Mattel, and Sun Microsystems. 

Hendrix also worked with hip-hop artists such as Whodini, Keith Sweat, and MC Hammer. 

However in 1992, shortly after she moved to Los Angeles, Elaine Hendrix was hit by a car while riding her bike. The accident ended her career as a model and a dancer. So she ventured into acting.

Working as an actress, Elaine Hendrix has starred in films Road Warriors (1995), The Munsters' Scary Little Christmas (1996), The Parent Trap (1998), Get Your Stuff (2000), Inspector Gadget 2 (2003), What the Bleep!?: Down the Rabbit Hole (2006), Tru Loved (2008), Spork (2011), Shot (2017), and Adopt a Highway (2019), among others.

In TV series, Hendrix has portrayed roles in dozens. Some include Doogie Howser, M.D. (1992), The Chronicle (2001-2002), Joan of Arcadia (2003-2005), Poor Paul (2009-2011), 90210 (2010-2011), Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll (2015-2016), Dynasty (2019).
