Her mother Alo Munizza is from La Mesa, California, and works as a professional photographer while his father David Thomas Marvel Jr. is the president of a brass and copper rolling company located in Reading called Heyco Metals.

Theatre

Following college, graduation, Marvel began her career as a stage actress- first in off-broadway plays. After her first professional role in the play Measure for Measure as Isabella in the 1992 Stratford Festival, she eventually began to perform at Broadway shows. Some of the Broadway plays in which she has appeared include The Seagull (1992), Taking Sides (1996), Lydie Breeze (2000), Seascape (2005), Top Girls (2008), Picnic (2013), King Lear (2019), among others.

Her most recent work was as Mary Tyrone in the Off-Broadway Minetta Lane Theatre production of Long Day's Journey into Night. Moreover, Elizabeth Marvel has won the Obie Awards for her roles in the stage plays Misalliance (1998), A Streetcar Named Desire (2000), and Hedda Gabler (2005).

Marvel made her screen debut with an episode of Homicide: Life on the Street in the year 1998. Since then she has actively worked in over three dozen films and TV series likewise.
