George MacKay’s birth took place on 13 March 1992 in Hammersmith, London, England. He was born George Andrew J. MacKay to his mother, Kim Baker, a costume designer, and Australian father, Paul MacKay, who works in lighting/stage management. He is not the only child of his parents and has a sibling, a sister named Daisy Mackay.

Early Days
MacKay was a student at The Harrodian School when he was spotted by an acting scout in 2002. He was asked to audition for a role in P.J. Hogan's 2003 film adaptation of Peter Pan.
After attending a workshop, George MacKay landed the role of one of the Lost Boys, Curly. This role is also considered his breakthrough role.
