Hart Matthew Bochner is an actor, director, and screenwriter by profession, and Canadian by nationality. He is best known for appearing in the series Scandal, The Dropout, and films Carrie, Break Up, Apartment Zero, and Supergirl.

Hart Bochner was born on October 3, 1956, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His mother Ruth Roher, a concert pianist, and his father Lloyd Bochner, an actor named Hart Matthew Bochner. Lloyd was a famous actor well known for starring in the films Point Blank, The Young Runaways, and The Detective in the 1960s.
He is not the only child of his parents and has two siblings – sister Johanna Courtleigh, and brother Paul Bochner.

After graduation from high school, Hart Bochner went on to study at the University of California San Diego. He earned his Bachelor of Arts, Literature degree from the same in 1978.

Early Days
Bochner followed in his father’s footsteps. His career as an actor began in the year 1977, his debut appearance being in the film Islands in the Stream as Tom.
From then onwards he worked extensively in films- some of which he appeared in include Breaking Away (1979), Rich and Famous (1981), Supergirl (1984), Making Mr. Right (1987), Mr. Destiny (1990), The Innocent (1993), Anywhere But Here (1999).
During this time Hart Bochner also had guest appearances in the TV series East of Eden (1981), War and Remembrance (1988-1989), and The Legend of Prince Valiant (1993), among others.

Since 2000, he has starred in the films Urban Legends: Final Cut (2000), Liberty Stands Still (2000), Carrie (2013), Rules Don't Apply (2016), and TV movies Silicon Follies (2001), Once Around the Park (2003), Baby for Sale (2004), etc.
His roles are more prominent in episodes of the TV series Crossing Jordan (2003), The Starter Wife (2008), Leverage (2012), Grey's Anatomy (2013), Scandal (2015), Criminal Minds (2017), Too Old To Die Young (2019), The Dropout (2022), to name a few.
As a film director, Hart Bochner’s work includes The Buzz (1992), PCU (1994), High School High (1996), Just Add Water (2008), and 7 episodes of NCIS: New Orleans (2017-2021).
