Who is Jai Courtney?

Jai Courtney is an actor by profession and Australian by nationality. He is best known for his roles in Jack Reacher, A Good Day to Die Hard, Felony, Terminator Genisys, Suicide Squad, and Alita: Battle Angel.

Jai Courtney’s birth took place on 15 March 1986 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. He was born Jai Stephen Courtney to parents Chris Courtney, an electricity company worker, and Karen Courtney, a teacher at Galston Public School. He has a sibling, an older sister with whom he was raised.

Education, Ethnicity

For education, both Courtney and his sister studied at Galston Public School, where their mother worked as a teacher. He later attended Cherrybrook Technology High School. After graduation, he went on to enroll at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, graduating in 2008.

His ethnicity includes British and Italian.

Jai Courtney started dating Thai-born Australian actress Gemma Pranita in 2006. The couple spent around eight years together before breaking up in 2013. He was in a relationship with his Terminator Genisys costar Emilia Clarke for a few months from February to June 2015.

Currently, he is in a relationship with model Mecki Dent. The two started dating in 2016 and have been together ever since. Jai Courtney has never had any children as of now.

Before fame

Jai Courtney began his career as an actor in 2005 with the short film Boys Grammar. He then guest starred in the TV series All Saints in 2008 and Packed to the Rafters the same year. 

Films, Series

In 2010 he landed his breakthrough role as Varro in 10 episodes of Spartacus: Blood and Sand followed by a role in Wet Hot American Summer: Ten Years Later (2017). 

In films, Jai Courtney started out with the 2009’s Stone Bros. The actor soon had roles in Jack Reacher (2012), A Good Day to Die Hard (2013), I, Frankenstein (2014), Felony (2014), Terminator Genisys (2015), Suicide Squad (2016), Alita: Battle Angel (2018), among others.

Two movies in which he has starred–Buffaloed and Honest Thief are set to be released soon. It was revealed in late March 2019 that he will return as Captain Boomerang in Suicide Squad.
