Who is Jake Weary?

Jake Weary is an actor, musician, singer, songwriter, and music producer by profession and American by nationality. He is best known to portray Luke Snyder in As the World Turns, Vince Keeler in Chicago Fire, Kevin in Fred: The Movie, and Deran Cody in Animal Kingdom.

Jake Weary – Age, Parents, Siblings

Jake Weary’s birth took place on February 14, 1990, in Trenton, New Jersey, USA. He was born as Jacob Weary to mother Kim Zimmer, a Daytime Emmy Award-winning actress, and father A.C. Weary, an actor, and director. 

He is not the only child of his parents and has two older siblings- brother Max Weary and sister Rachel Weary.

Education, Ethnicity

After graduating from high school, Weary attended CalArts where he attended a conservatory BFA program for a semester and a half before dropping out.

His ethnicity includes German and English.

Jake Weary – Sexuality, Gay?

There have been rumors that Weary’s sexuality is gay, which has been deemed false. Both he and his mother were criticized after leaving As the World Turns. Turns out he had left the show just before his character in the series explored the possibility of homosexuality.

This led to rumors that he was uncomfortable with homosexuality. Jake Weary later stated that he “simply could not afford to dedicate the time to the show that would be required to explore an issue of such importance properly.”

Jake Weary – Girlfriend, Wife, Children, Divorce

Jake Weary is currently in a relationship with Vera Lesavoy, a Dutch actress and model based in New York City. He and his girlfriend have been dating since 2017. After the engagement, he married Lesavoy in October 2019.

He and his wife do not have any children yet. There are no rumors of divorce surrounding the pair.

Before Fame

Weary, who was born into a family of actors and directors grew up to fall in love with acting. He began his professional career in 2004 but made a guest appearance in 2002 with his mother in the CBS soap opera Guiding Light.

In the year 2004, Jake Weary was cast in an episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Listen Up!. Next year in 2005, he was cast as Luke Snyder in As the World Turns, which is considered his breakthrough role. He portrayed the character for 58 episodes.

After initial success, Jake Weary has had appearances in the TV series Law & Order: Criminal Intent (2005), Three Rivers (2009), three Fred TV movies (2010, 2011, 2012), and Fred: The Show (2012).

He also portrayed the role of Cyrus Petrillo in Pretty Little Liars (2014-2015), as Deran Cody in Animal Kingdom (2016- present), and as John 'Webby' Garton in IT: Chapter Two (2019).

In addition to being an actor, Jake Weary is also a musician and has released three EPs Agendas (2011), Tones (2012), and Untitled Debut (2016). He has been writing, producing, and recording his own music since he was 12 years old.
