Who is Scott Speedman?

Scott Speedman is an actor by profession and British, Canadian by profession. He is best known for his role in Felicity, Animal Kingdom, The Vow, in Underworld as Michael Corvin.

Scott Speedman’s birth took place on September 1, 1975, in Hammersmith, London, England. He was born Robert Scott Speedman to his mother Mary Campbell, a primary school teacher, and champion runner, and his father Roy Speedman, a department store buyer.

At the age of 4, he moved with his family to Toronto, Ontario. He is not the only child of his parents and has an older sibling, his older sister Tracey Speedman. Tracey died from cancer on February 8, 2016.

Scott Speedman was educated at Earl Haig Secondary School and later attended the University of Toronto and York University. Her ethnicity is Scottish.

Scott Speedman is known to be a lady's man. He dated Gwyneth Paltrow from 1998 to 1999, Keri Russell from 1999 to 2001, and Ashley Scott from 2007 to 2008.

He is also known to have been in a relationship with Teresa Palmer from 2011 to 2012, Camille De Pazzis from 2012 to 2014, and a hookup with Kristen Wiig in 2014 and Heather Graham.

Speedman dating Lindsay Rae Hofmann in 2017. His girlfriend announced her pregnancy in May 2021 and the couple welcomed their daughter Pfieffer Lucia on October 26, 2021. 

He is unmarried and sans wife and as he has never married, divorce is out of context.

Scott Speedman – Career

Before Fame

While in school Speedman was a competitive swimmer and was a member of the Canadian Junior National Swim Team. He was placed ninth at the 1992 Olympic trials but due to a neck injury, he was forced to leave the sport.

After falling in love with acting, he studied acting at the University of Toronto and York University. In 1995 he landed a role in the Canadian series Net Worth followed by several small TV roles. He appeared in Kung Fu: The Legend Continues (1995), Nancy Drew (1995), Giant Mine (1996), and Every 9 Seconds (1997).

His breakthrough came in 1998 when he was cast as Ben Covington in the TV series Felicity. He played the character for a total of 84 episodes until 2002.

His breakthrough role helped him land even more iconic characters. He portrayed Michael Corvin in the films Underworld (2003), Underworld: Evolution (2006), Underworld: Awakening (2012), and Underworld: Blood Wars (2016).

Other roles include XXX: State of the Union (2005), The Strangers (2008), Good Neighbours (2010), The Vow (2012), and Grey's Anatomy (2018).

Scott Speedman is also well known for portraying XO Sam Kendal in Last Resort (2012-2013) and as Barry "Baz" Blackwell in Animal Kingdom (2016-2018).

In Underworld, Speedman has starred alongside Kate Beckinsale, Theo James, Bill Nighy, and Michael Sheen.
