Jermall Charlo is a boxer by profession, American by nationality, and the twin brother of Jermell Charlo. He has held the title of WBC middleweight (2019) and IBF junior middleweight (2015-2017).

Jermall Charlo’s birth took place on May 19, 1990, in Richmond, Texas, USA. He was born to his mother, Terrie Charlo, and his father, Kevin Charlo, a former boxer. 

He is not the only child of his parents and has two siblings- an older sister and a twin brother, Jermell Charlo, who is a minute younger than Jermall Charlo.

Charlo followed in his father’s footsteps as a boxer. As an amateur, he was hopeful to compete in the 2008 Olympics for his home country but was forced to back out due to a toe injury.

Professional Fights

He made his professional debut on August 12, 2008, against Cimmaron Davis, winning with a 2nd-round technical knockout. Over the next 6 years, Jermall Charlo remained undefeated, beating out Deon Nash, Carlos Garcia, Orlando Lora, Antwone Smith, Norberto Gonzalez, and Michael Kenneth Finney.

Jermall Charlo beat out 42-year-old Cornelius Bundrage, winning the IBF light middleweight title in May 2015, and went on to win fights against Wilky Campfort, Austin Trout, Julian Williams, etc.

In the middleweight category, Jermall Charlo fought against Jorge Sebastian Heiland, Hugo Centeno, Matt Korobov, and Dennis Hogan and won.
