Hawthorne began performing at a very young age at her church and started taking voice lessons at age 8. When she was 9, she joined an organization called Louisiana Kids and would compete against other kids in her state.
As she got older, she began to sing at a wide range of events and venues such as nursing homes, churches, and charity events.
She also had a part-time job at Little Caesars. In 2015, Koryn Hawthorne auditioned for the eighth season of The Voice. She chose Christina Aguilera as her coach but was later stolen by Pharrell Williams. Koryn Hawthorne finished in the 4th place in the competition.
On May 6, 2015, Abbeville Mayor Mark Piazza declared “Koryn Hawthorne Day" and presented her with the key to the city.
After The Voice, Hawthorne was signed into RCA Inspiration. On August 11, 2017, she released her 4-track EP. Her debut album Unstoppable was released on July 13, 2018, which reached number 1 on the Top Gospel Albums. It's single Won't He Do It reached number 1 on Billboard's three main gospel charts.
She also has appeared in the fifth season of Mary Mary, Saints & Sinners (March 2016), Greenleaf and has performed in Summer Lights Tour.
