Early Days

Colón-Zayas began her career as an actress in theatres, initially in off-Broadway productions. She broke into mainstream theatre after she wrote, produced, and starred in a one-woman show titled Sistah Supreme. She is one of the original members of The LAByrinth Theater Company in New York, a traveling actors' group since 1992.
