Luke Walton is a former basketball player and basketball coach by profession and American by nationality. He played in the NBA and was the head coach for the Los Angeles Lakers from 2016 to 2019.

Luke Walton’s birth took place on March 28, 1980, in San Diego, California, USA. He was born Luke Theodore Walton to parents Susan Guth and Bill Walton, a former NBA and NCAA star. He is not the only child of his parents and has three siblings, brothers Adam, Nathan, and Chris Walton.

For education, Walton attended the University of San Diego High School, graduating in 1998. Later on, he enrolled at the University of Arizona where he played basketball. He graduated from there in 2003 with a Bachelor's Degree in Family Studies.

Walton met Bre Ladd in 2002 while both were students at the University of Arizona. Ladd played volleyball on their varsity team. But they did not start dating until 2005.
17 August 2013, he married his longtime girlfriend. As of now, he and his wife have welcomed two children together. Their first child, son Lawson Walton was born in 2014 while their second child- daughter Landen was born in 2016.
The couple is married happily without any rumors of extra-marital affairs or divorce.

Luke Walton – Career
Before fame
Walton started his career in basketball as a junior at the University of Arizona under coach Lute Olson. His professional career began in 2003. That year he was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2003 NBA draft as the 32nd overall pick. He was the Laker’s reserve player for a total of nine years.
Walton’s best years in the NBA were in the 2006-07 season. In the game against Atlanta Hawks, he scored a career-high 25 points. On July 12, 2007, Luke Walton was signed with Los Angeles Lakers to a 6-year and $30 million contract.

Worked in
Over the course of his career with the Lakers as a player, he won two championships. On March 15, 2012, Walton was traded to Cleveland Cavaliers but soon left his position as a basketball player to become a coach.
Luke Walton began coaching with the University of Memphis and by Los Angeles D-Fenders for the 2013-2014 season. From the 2014 to 2016 basketball season, he was chosen as an assistant coach for the Golden State Warriors.
On April 29, 2016, his old team Los Angeles Lakers hired him to become their new head coach, replacing Byron Scott. Walton held the position until April 12, 2019. On April 14, 2019, he joined Sacramento Kings as their head coach.

Luke Walton – Sexual assault charges
On April 22, 2019, Luke Walton was charged with sexual assault by former Spectrum SportsNet host Kelli Tennant while he was an assistant coach for Golden State. She detailed the assault that had happened years ago in 2014.
According to her, Walton had written a foreword for her book and had gone to his hotel room in Santa Monica, California to drop off a copy of the book. There, Tennant said he had pinned her down to his bed and kissed her face, neck, and chest, and groped her breasts and groin area.
