Marjorie Harvey’s birth took place on 10 October 1964 in the United States as Marjorie Bridges. Although she shares many of her parent's pictures on social media, their details are in the mist. Her parents have been married since July 20211962.

Her African-American father’s name is McCoy Bridges and her Caucasian mother is Doris Bridges. As for siblings too, she has only given limited information. Her brother is named Terry Harvey.

After graduating high school, Marjorie Harvey did attend university. But as she was more interested in fashion than in books and studies, she could not perform well. So, she dropped out.

Marjorie Harvey is mostly known because of her marriage to TV host and comedian Steve Harvey. But before that, she had two failed marriages and ex-husbands.

Her first husband was said to be Jim L. Townsend, a drug pusher in Memphis. He was later known to have been arrested and is serving a life sentence in prison. After the divorce from her first husband, Marjorie Harvey is said to have resumed dating.

She tied the knot with her second husband Darnell Woods and she changed her name to Marjorie Bridges-Woods.

Like her first husband, Woods was also a notorious drug dealer. In fact, Woods is one of the infamous Wood brothers. In 2002, the four brothers were jailed for the distribution of marijuana and cocaine from Houston to Memphis.

She has three children from her second marriage- Jason Harvey, Lori Harvey, and Morgan Harvey. Now, she is a grandmother to grandchildren Morgan, Jason, and Karli.

Settling down

Marjorie Harvey and Steve Harvey first started dating in 1990, after meeting at a comedy club in Memphis, Tennessee. But the distance forced them apart eventually breaking up. Many years later in 2005, they met again. Both had been married and divorced twice with children. 

Not wanting to see Steve Harvey’s heartbreak again and knowing she was the only woman who made him really happy, his bodyguard advised him to date her.

On June 25, 2007, the couple married and she took the name, Marjorie Elaine Harvey. Together they are parents to seven children, four of Steve Harvey’s (Karli Harvey, Brandi Harvey, Wynton Harvey, Broderick Harvey Jr.) and three of Marjorie Harvey. However, they do not have any children together but have five grandchildren altogether.

As she only came into the spotlight after dating and marrying Steve Harvey, nothing is known of her life and days before that.

Harvey and her husband joined hands to open the Steve and Marjorie Harvey Foundation (SMHF). The foundation aims to uplift the living standard of children and families in different parts of the world.  She also runs a website Lady Loves Couture, dedicated to fashion and beauty.

She also has her clothing line, Marjorie Harvey’s Closet, and her own line of handbags, Marjorie Harvey’s Handbags. Once in a while, she visits the Steve Harvey Show sometimes to promote her clothing line and other times to surprise her loving husband.
