Early Career
While a student in high school, he played running back and defensive tackle. In his second year, he had 41 tackles and six sacks, in his junior year, he had 84 tackles and nine sacks, and in his senior year, he had 97 tackles and 12 sacks.
At the University of Iowa, Mike Daniels played for the Iowa Hawkeyes. He was redshirted during his first year there, and in the second year, he played in all 13 games. In their junior year, he played in every game, of which he started eight.
In his senior year, he started all 13 games at defensive tackle and led the team in tackles for loss and sacks.

Professional Career
Mike Daniels was selected in the fourth round and 132nd overall of the 2012 draft by the Green Bay Packers. In 2012, which was his rookie season, he played in 14 games. In 2013, Mike Daniels played in 16 games, and in 2014, in 16 games.
He signed a 4-year contract extension worth $42 million on December 14, 2015, with the Green Bay Packers. After seven seasons with the Green Bay Packers, he was released on July 24, 2019.
