Who is Mike Daniels?

Mike Daniels is a football player by profession and American by nationality. He is a defensive end and a free agent, having played for Iowa Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers.

Mike Daniels’ birth took place on May 5, 1989, in Stratford, New Jersey, USA. He was born Michael Wayne Daniels Jr. to his father Michael Wayne Daniels Sr. and his mother Carlene Daniels.

He is not the only child of his parents and has a younger sibling- a brother named Sean Daniels, who is also an American football player.

Education, Ethnicity

For education, Mike Daniels attended Highland Regional High School. After graduation, he enrolled at the University of Iowa for a major in sociology.

His ethnicity is African-American.

Mike Daniels – Girlfriend, Wife, Children

Mike Daniels married his longtime girlfriend Heaven Daniels on July 12, 2014. The couple had first met while he was studying at the University of Iowa. He and his wife have five children together- two sons, a daughter, and their fourth child, a girl, was born in September 2018 while their fifth child, a daughter, was born in September 2020.

Their first three children were born on August 3. Currently, the couple is living together without rumors of extra-marital affairs and divorce.

Mike Daniels – Career

Early Career

While a student in high school he played running back and defensive tackle. In his second year, he had 41 tackles and six sacks, in his junior year he had 84 tackles and nine sacks and in his senior year, he had 97 tackles and 12 sacks. 

At the University of Iowa, Mike Daniels played for the Iowa Hawkeyes. He was redshirted during his first year there and in the second year, he played in all 13 games. In their junior year, he played in every game, of which he started eight.

In his senior year, he started all 13 games at defensive tackle and led the team in tackles for loss and sacks.

Professional Career

Mike Daniels was selected in the fourth round and 132nd overall of the 2012 draft by the Green Bay Packers. In 2012, which is his rookie season, he played in 14 games. In 2013 Mike Daniels played in 16 games, and in 2014 in 16 games. 

He signed a 4-year contract extension worth $42 million on December 14, 2015, with  Green Bay Packers. After seven seasons with the  Green Bay Packers, he was released on July 24, 2019.
