Naomie Harris is an actress by profession and British by nationality. Since starring in Simon and the Witch as a child actor, she is well known for her work in Pirates of the Caribbean, Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom, James Bond films Skyfall, Spectre, and No Time to Die.

She was born Naomie Melanie Harris to her English-Nigerian mother Carmen Harris (who used the pseudonym Lisselle Kayla), a TV scriptwriter turned reiki healer, and her Trinidadian father Brian Clarke, a fashion designer. 

Her parents separated before she was born. She was raised by her mother and had no contact with her father. From her mother’s second marriage, she has two younger half-siblings.

For education, Naomie Harris attended St Marylebone School in London. She also attended Woodhouse College as a sixth-form student and went on to study at Pembroke College, Cambridge. She graduated from the latter with a degree in social and political sciences in 1998. Harris also received training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

As a child actor, Naomie Harris made her debut in the remake of The Tomorrow People. Through her late childhood and teens, she starred in the TV series Simon and the Witch (1987-1988), Runaway Bay (1992-1993), and The Tomorrow People (1992-1995).

Films, Series

Finally, in 2006, Harris was cast as Tia Dalma in 2006’s Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End (2007). 

Since then she has portrayed characters in films August (2008), My Last Five Girlfriends (2009), Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom (2013), Moonlight (2016), Rampage (2018), Venom 2 (2020), and in James Bond films Skyfall (2012), Spectre, No Time to Die (2020) as Eve Moneypenny.

In the TV series, Naomie Harris has had guest appearances on Poppy Shakespeare (2008), Small Island (2009), and The Third Day (2020), to name a few.
