Castro’s debut screen role was in an episode of the 1993 TV series Crónicas del Mal. This was followed by minor appearances in the films Stories from the Kronen (1995), El ángel de la Guarda (1996), Scarred Soul (1998), Cuarteto de La Habana (1999), Second Skin (1999), among others.

Also, she had the opportunity to portray characters in the episodes of the TV series Colegio Mayor (1996), Éste es mi Barrio (1996), Calle Nueva (1997-1998), A las Once en casa (1998), El Comisario, etc.

Finally, she was cast as Cristina Angulo in the Spanish TV series Al Salir de Clase in 2000. She portrayed the character for a total of 118 episodes until 2001 which is her breakthrough role.
