Who is Rozonda Thomas?

Rozonda Thomas, also known as Chilli, is a dancer, singer, songwriter, and actress by profession, and American by nationality. She is best known as a member of the group TLC alongside Tionne “T-boz” Watkins, and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes.

Rozonda Thomas – Bio, Age, Parents, Siblings

Rozonda Thomas’ birth took place on February 27, 1971, in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. She was born Rozonda Ocielian Thomas to her Indian father Abdul Ali and her mother Ava Thomas, of African American and Native-American descent.

She is not the only child of her parents and has a sibling, a sister named Marni Ali Williams. They were raised by their single mother. Rozonda Thomas first met her father in 1996, which is well documented by Sally Jessy Raphael's television talk show.

For education she attended Benjamin Elijah Mays High School, graduating in 1989.

Her ethnicity includes African-American, Native American, and Indian.

Rozonda Thomas – Boyfriend, Husband, Children

When she was 20 years old, her affair with producer Dallas Austin resulted in a pregnancy. But she aborted the pregnancy and years later on her show, What Chilli Wants, revealed that she had regretted her decision. 

She and her boyfriend Austin welcomed their son Tron Austin on June 2, 1997. But the couple did not marry and soon ended their relationship.

Rozonda Thomas began dating Usher in 2001. After dating for two years, the couple broke up in December 2003. She later claimed on the Atlanta radio on February 17, 2004, that their break up was due to Usher’s cheating. On the other hand, Usher denied having cheated on Thomas.

Since then she has been rumored to date T.J. Holmes, Floyd Mayweather Jr., Tyrese Gibson, and Nick Cannon. Currently, she is single and sans her husband.

Rozonda Thomas – Career

With TLC

After graduation, Thomas danced for the R&B group Damian Dame. She joined the music group TLC in 1991, replacing founding member Crystal Jones. They sold over 65 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling American girl group of all time.

With the group, Rozonda Thomas released five studio albums including Ooooooohhh... On the TLC Tip (1992), CrazySexyCool (1994), FanMail (1999), 3D (2002), TLC (2017).

Other group members are Tionne Watkins and Lisa Lopes.

Solo

Rozonda Thomas began her solo career in 2000 but ceased production in 2002 while working on TLC’s new album. After a few speculations and rumors, a few of her tracks from her upcoming albums were leased from 2006 to 2008. Her solo single  Body was released on January 2016.

As an actress, Rozonda Thomas has appearances in The Parkers, That 70s Show, Living Single, and Strong Medicine. She has also starred in films Snow Day, Ticker, House Party 3, and Hav Plenty.

In 2009 Thomas was vast in the reality TV series What Chilli Wants, which documents her quest to find love while with the help of love and relationship expert Tionna Tee Smalls. Two seasons of the series were released.
