Ruth Langsford was born on 17 March 1960 in Singapore and her full name is Ruth Wendy Langsford. Her mother’s name is Joan Langsford and her father’s name is Dennis Langsford, who used to work in the military. She has a sister too, Julia Johnson.
Her family used to travel a lot which had a good impact on Ruth. So by the age of 10, Ruth had already lived in 5 different countries with her parents, including Germany where she spent her teenage years.

In 2002, Ruth gave birth to their son Jack Alexander Holmes. After their live announcement of engagement on The Morning Show, they finally tied the knot after 13 years together On 26 June 2010 at Elvetham Hall, Hartley Wintney, Hampshire.
The family currently resides in Weybridge, Surrey, England with their dog Maggie, which they adopted in 2011 from the charity Dogs Trust. Currently, she is in a happy marriage without rumors of extra-marital affairs and divorce.

Early Career
Ruth’s career started as a continuity announcer and newscaster with Television South West (TSW) in England and worked there till early 1993.
And from 1999 to 2002, she worked as a regular panelist on the show Loose Women. She rejoined the show in 2010.

In 2000, she started to work as a guest presenter, and in 2006, as a regular presenter on the show This Morning.
Over the years, she has presented numerous shows namely, TV Travel Shop (1998-2005), Mysterious West (1995), The Great British Garden Show, Langsford Late (1999), The Answer Lies in the Soil (1999), Gardens of the Millennium (1999), The Really Useful Show (1997).

Ruth has been involved with numerous awareness and fundraising charity events. She has participated notably in Hyde Park Adidas Women's 5k, The Bupa Great Capital Run, and Memory Walk.
She is also an ambassador for Alzheimer's Society. And in 2014, Ruth appeared in a Dementia Friends TV advertisement campaign. The target was to raise awareness about Alzheimer's disease.
