Her first work was in a commercial at the age of three. Reid then appeared in two short films, The Girls of Summer (2012), The Spirit Game (2013), and a TV movie, A Cross to Bear (2012), before landing the role of Emily in the 2013 film 12 Years a Slave. This was followed by minor roles in the TV series The Thundermans (2013), Adam Devine's House Party (2013), NCIS: Los Angeles (2014), Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn (2014), Chicago P.D. (2015), and in the TV movies Twang (2013), White Water (2015), etc.
