Who is Suranne Jones?

Suranne Jones is an actress, producer by profession, and English by nationality. She is mostly known for her role in Coronation Street, Vincent, Strictly Confidential, Unforgiven, etc.

Suranne Jones – Age, Parents, Siblings

Suranne Jones was born on 27 August 1978 in Chadderton, Greater Manchester, England. She was born as Sarah Anne Jones to parents Chris Jones, an engineer, and Jenny Jones, a secretary. She is not the only child of her parents and has a sibling, an older brother named Gary Jones.

Growing up, Jones revealed that she was talkative and her priest would say to her: "I'm praying you can concentrate just a bit more".

Education, Ethnicity

For education, she joined Cardinal Langley Roman Catholic High School. She was a member of the Oldham Theatre Workshop and completed a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts.

Her ethnicity is English.

Suranne Jones – Boyfriend, Husband, Children, Divorce

Jones is a happily married woman. She met Laurence Akers, freelance scriptwriter, and former Nikon Pro magazine editor in 2013. After dating for around two years, she married her boyfriend on 4 August 2015. They announced their engagement on 23 May 2014.

Suranne Jones and her husband welcomed a son in March 2016. The couple has not shared the name of their baby boy as of now. There are no rumors of divorce surrounding the couple as well.

Before fame

Jones began her professional career at the age of 16, having taken the stage at the age of 8 in Wait Until Dark as Gloria. She began to use the stage name Suranne, having obtained an agent at the age of 15.

Her first role was in 1997’s Coronation Street as Mandy Phillips and Karen Phillips in 2000. After four years of playing Karen, she left the show in May 2004. The show and her role have gained her much recognition.

Films, Series

Since then Suranne Jones has landed roles in Vincent,  A Few Good Men, Strictly Confidential, Dead Clever, Harley Street (2008), Unforgiven (2009), and The Sarah Jane Adventures.

After 2009, Suranne Jones starred in Five Days  (2010), Single Father (2010), Doctor Who (May 2011), Scott & Bailey, A Touch of Cloth (2011), The Secret of Crickley Hall (2012),  Doctor Foster (2015), Gentleman Jack (2019).
