Who is Taissa Farmiga?

Taissa Farmiga is an actress by profession and American by nationality. Having earned the name contemporary scream queen, she is best known for starring in American Horror Story: Murder House,  Coven, The Nun, Roanoke, Apocalypse, etc.

Taissa Farmiga’s birth took place on August 17, 1994, in Readington, New Jersey, USA. She was born to her mother Lubomyra Farmiga, a schoolteacher, and her father Michael Farmiga, a systems analyst. She is not the only child of her parents and has six siblings – three sisters and three brothers, among which she is the youngest. 

Her sisters are Vera Farmiga, Nadia Farmiga, and Laryssa Farmiga, and her brothers are Alexander Farmiga, Victor Farmiga, and Stephan Farmiga. Vera, who is 22 years her senior, is also a famous actress, well known for starring in hit films The Conjuring, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, and Annabelle Comes Home, among many others.

Education, Ethnicity

For education, Taissa Farmiga was educated in a public school until the fourth grade. She was then home-schooled along with her two older siblings. 

Her ethnicity is Ukrainian.

Taissa Farmiga has been dating director, and screenwriter Hadley Klein since 2014. After years of relationship, she got engaged to her boyfriend in May 2019. They married in a low-key wedding on August 8, 2020. She does not have any children with her husband yet.

For the newlyweds, divorce rumors are not present.

Early Career

Initially, Farmiga wanted to become an accountant but was persuaded to appear in her sister Vera’s 2011 directorial debut drama Higher Ground. There she was cast as Corinne Walker, the lead character of the film. Following the success of the film, she was signed to the talent agency ICM Partners. 

The same Taissa Farmiga was cast in the TV series American Horror Story: Murder House as Violet Harmon. This gained her worldwide recognition and the name contemporary scream queen.

Since then Farmiga has starred in over two dozen films The Bling Ring (2013), The Final Girls (2015), In a Valley of Violence (2016), What They Had (2018), The Nun (2018), The Nun 2 as Sister Irene and lent her voice as Raven in Justice League vs. Teen Titans (2016) and Teen Titans: The Judas Contract (2017).

Over the years Taissa Farmiga has portrayed roles in TV series- American Horror Story: Coven (2013-2014), Wicked City (2015), American Horror Story: Roanoke (2016), American Horror Story: Apocalypse (2018), 50 States of Fright (2020), The Gilded Age, etc.
