Who is Tobias Menzies?

Tobias Menzies is an actor by profession and British by nationality. He has acted in theatre, TV, and films.

Tobias Menzies’s birth took place on 7 March 1974 in London, England as Hanan Tobias Simpson Menzies. His parents are Gillian (née Simpson), an English literature and drama teacher, and Peter Menzies, a BBC radio producer. He has a sibling too, a younger brother named Luke Menzies, who is now a solicitor.

Menzies was educated at the Perry Court Rudolf Steiner School. There he trained in movement, singing, and instrumental music which is collectively known as the Steiner System. He also attended Frensham Heights School and later went to Deborah Moody's Year Out Drama Company in Stratford-Upon-Avon.

Tobias Menzies also studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and graduated from the same with a BA degree in Acting in 1998.

His ethnicity includes English and Scottish.

Tobias Menzies – Girlfriend, Wife, Children, Divorce

Menzies was in a relationship with Kristin Scott Thomas. The two had begun dating in 2005 after meeting on the sets of  As You Desire Me. The couple has now separated and Menzies is currently single.

Thomas was then a married woman and was married to François Olivennes with whom she has three children. Thomas and Olivennes divorced in 2005, ending their 17 years of marriage.

Before fame

Tobias Menzies used to work with a British improv comedy company called The Spontaneity Shop. He began his acting career with series such as Foyle's War (2002), Midsomer Murders (1997), and Casualty (1986).

Films, Series

Over the years, Tobias Menzies has acted in Rome (2005–07), Casino Royale (2006), Spooks, as Edmure Tully in Game of Thrones, The Thick of It,  The Honourable Woman (2014), Outlander (2014), The Terror (2016), The Crown (2018).

In theatre Menzies has been credited as an actor for the plays The History Boys, Three Sisters, Hamlet,  Persuasion  (2007), The Cherry Orchard, and The Relief of Belsen (2007).
