Elliot Page dating Julia Shiplett since coming out as transgender

Elliot Page has found a new romance with Julia Shiplett.

The Juno star made his relationship with the Overcompensating actress public via Instagram on Saturday.

Page introduced his partner by posting a sweet selfie of them.

However, the X-Men star did not share any additional details of their love affair.

Shiplett, 38, also took to Instagram to confirm her relationship with Page, 38, on her social media.

In Instagram stories, she shared a shirtless picture of the Umbrella Academy as they relaxed in a hot spring.

“Happy prideee,” she wrote on the picture.

Elliot Page, previously known as Ellen Page, has not made her relationships public since coming out as transgender in 2020.

He told the Los Angeles Times about his dating life in June 2023.

“Interacting with people feels so much easier and more connected. Because I’m not feeling lost in myself and not seen in the right way,” he explained.

In his memoir Pageboy, he revealed he was in a secret relationship for two years with a closeted actress, whom he calls Ryan.

“My partner was more closeted than me for a change. We were together for almost two years, and even some of my closest friends were not aware I was in a relationship. Her parents did not know,” Page wrote.

He went on to share that the reason behind their breakup was due to this relationship was not sustainable.

Page explained. “People didn’t ‘think she was queer. But they definitely assumed I was, and I don’t think she could handle the shame. Ultimately, she had to do what was best for her, and unfortunately, it resulted in my heart being shattered.”

Page came out as lesbian in 2014 during a speech at the Human Rights Campaign.

In December 2020, he came out as a trans man, claiming his pronouns as he and they, introducing his new name, Elliot Page.

Previously, Page has been in a relationship with Olivia Thirlby, Kate Mara.

He went on to marry dancer/choreographer Emma Portner in late 2017 but separated in mid-2020 after coming out as transgender. They eventually divorced in January 2021 and have since remained close friends.
