Freida Pinto, fiancé Cory Tran eloped during COVID-19 pandemic

Freida Pinto and Cory Tran are now a married couple.

The 37-year-old Slumdog Millionaire actress revealed on The Kelly Clarkson Show that she and her fiancé Cory Tran secretly married during quarantine.

On the show, Pinto showed the American Idol host a few pictures of her engagement. And when asked, “How’s wedding planning going?” she replied, “Oh excellent, we’re already married.”

She then revealed to Kelly Clarkson that she and her 34-year-old fiancé Cory Tran had initially planned to have an Indian-style wedding in Big Sur but COVID foiled their wedding plans.

“We just realized we were going to be planning this for the rest of our lives and probably never doing it. So, we decided one day to go to the Honda Center in Anaheim and just get married.” Pinto revealed.

The actress also explained how she avoided the stress that comes with a big wedding, “I did not want stomach ulcers from planning my own wedding, and this was perfect. We got married and then we got to go home and take an afternoon nap.”

The couple had met through a mutual friend Aaron Paul.

Pinto also revealed that she wasn’t too keen on getting set up on a date, “For some reason, Aaron, who loves love and loves the idea of people being together … he was like, ‘I want you forever in my life, Frieda, so I’m going to introduce you to my friend. I said I did not want to be hooked up with anybody. But he still did it, and turns out I got engaged to Cory — his friend!”

Pinto and Tran, who is a photographer, are pregnant with their first child.
