Jonathan Majors accused of strangling ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari
American actor Jonathan Majors has been accused of strangling ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari in a new lawsuit.
The professional dancer filed the lawsuit on Tuesday in New York’s Southern District. The legal papers claim assault, defamation, and battery.
Jabbari, 31, also detailed how Majors, 34, allegedly abused her throughout their two-year relationship between August 2021 and early 2023.
As per documents obtained by Rolling Stones, the British national claimed she suffered a head injury after Majors became physically aggressive following a night out with a friend. She detailed the brutal fight on September 20, 2022.
In the court papers, the Marvel actor forcefully threw Jabbari on the hood of a car while they were living in London.
The document read, “Grace began shouting for help. Majors then forcefully grabbed Grace, placing her in a headlock, and put his hand over her mouth to prevent someone from hearing her cries for help.”
The lawsuit also claimed that he brought her inside their home where he repeatedly hit her “head against the marble floor while strangling her until she felt she could no longer breathe.”
Documents also added that he allegedly threatened to kill his then-girlfriend as he left her unable to move with “a constant ringing headache.” However, she allegedly did not go to the hospital after Majors to kill himself if she did so.
In the documents, the dancer did not seek medical help but instead texted the Devotion star that she would “not go to the doctor if you don’t feel safe with me doing so, or don’t trust me to. I promise I would never mention you but I understand your fear.”
In addition to a head injury, Jabbari also claimed to have sustained a bruise on her backside.
The lawsuit also details another incident dated from June 2022.
As per the documents, the former couple were in Los Angeles when Majors became angry and attacked his girlfriend – with him pinning Jabbari’s arms back and slamming her against a wall which resulted in another head injury.
“Majors then forcefully grabbed Grace, placing her in a headlock,” the document read.
In a separate case, back in December 2023, Majors was found guilty of assault and harassment involving Jabbari. In March 2023, he was arrested for choking Jabbari – which resulted in her being treated in the hospital for minor head and neck injuries.
During the 2022 and 2023 cases, Grace Jabbari did not report the alleged September 2022 and June 2022 attacks as the trial focused solely on his recent arrest.
Following his arrest, Majors broke his silence on a January 8, 2024 interview with ABC New Live, “I’m standing there, and the verdict comes down. I say, ‘How is that possible based on the evidence, based off the prosecution’s evidence, let alone our evidence? How is that possible?’ I’m really blessed. I’m surrounded by people who love me, and who care about me. But this has been very, very, very hard and very difficult and confusing in many ways.”
He is currently dating girlfriend Megan Good, 42, since May 2023.
