Larry King ordered to pay estranged wife Shawn $33K per month in spousal support
Larry King will be paying his estranged wife Shawn Southwick King a hefty amount in spousal support- $33,000 per month. According to legal documents obtained by PageSix, 87-year-old TV and radio host has agreed to pay his 61-year-old ex-wife a one-time lump sum of $20,000.
The agreement will continue until their hearing which is set for April 29, 2021. During the next hearing, it will be determined if Shawn can receive retroactive payment for the year-plus.
King had filed for divorce in August 2019 and Shawn had first filed for spousal support in September 2020. He had previously said their 26-year age gap and religious differences took a toll on their marriage.
Larry King had said, “Also my wife is a very religious Mormon, and I’m an agnostic atheist, so that causes little problems. We overcame a lot, but it just hit a point where we didn’t get along.”
Shawn’s friends on the other hand said that she was in fact “blindsided” by the divorce filing. They married on September 5, 1997.
King has had seven wives and eight divorces including this one. From his marriages, he has five children including two sons Cannon Edward King and Chance Armstrong King with Shawn. She also has a son named Danny Southwick from a previous marriage.
