Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood divorced after 5 years of separation
Lisa Marie Presley and Michael Lockwood's marriage had ended, five years after separation. Their divorce was finalized on Wednesday, May 26, Us Weekly has confirmed.
The couple is, however, engaged in a custody battle of their 12-year-old twin daughters Harper Vivienne Ann and Finley Aaron Love. The twins had once been in state custody but it was not explained why.
Presley, 55, filed for divorce from Lockwood, 60, in 2016. They had been married for 10 years.
Presley filed for primary custody of her daughters in the fall of 2018. And after the suicide of her son Benjamin Keough in 2020, Lockwood petitioned for custody, fearing Benjamin’s death would cause Presley to relapse.
Lockwood’s petition documents read, “Lisa Marie Presley’s son shot and killed himself in her home (Although she was not there at the time.) With all due sympathy and respect, this creates a new and unaddressed twofold problem: the safety of the children and the greater likelihood of LMP to relapse into drug and alcohol dependency.”
Benjamin Keough was Lisa Marie Presley and musician Danny Keough’s youngest child, their oldest being 31-year-old actress, Riley Keough. He was buried alongside his grandfather Elvis Presley at Graceland.
Following a divorce from Keough, she married Michael Jackson and later on tied the knot with Nicolas Cage.
