‘Mean Girls’ alum Jonathan Bennett and boyfriend Jaymes Vaughan has a Mexico wedding

Last Modified: 9th Sep

Mean Girls star Jonathan Bennett married his boyfriend Jaymes Vaughan in Mexico’s Unico Riviera Maya Hotel on Saturday.

In a statement to PageSix, Bennett shared, “I didn’t know someone could be this happy or feel this loved. I also didn’t think I could ugly cry for 30 minutes straight, but I totally did, and it was perfect.”

“When you’re part of the LGBTQ+ fam, not everything in the wedding space is for you yet. The whole purpose of our wedding is to come together and join the two of us together, join our families together, and start a new family,” Vaughan told People magazine about their destination wedding, which was reportedly lavish.

Bennett, 40, and Vaughan, 38, reportedly exchanged hand-written vows in front of their close family and friends.

“And all that, as we were going through this process, we realized that our wedding is also more than just about us. It’s about the entire community.” Bennett added to his new husband’s words.

He also told People, “It was honestly a dream wedding! If you had told me this was one of my Hallmark movie sets, I would have believed it. It was that perfect.”

The couple chose to walk in from the beach and meet one another at the altar instead of walking down the aisle in a traditional way while Vaughan’s song, which he wrote to propose to Bennett in November 2020, played in the background.

YouTuber Brian Tyler Cohen officiated the wedding ceremony which was also attended by stars such as Danica McKellar and Sharon Lawrence. Outlets also reported that the wedding party wore “gender-neutral” black tuxes and white tuxes while the guests wore various shades of white to honor Bennett’s late mother. Even the white roses were placed to honor her.

Jonathan Bennett had risen to fame in his teen years when he was cast as Aaron Samuels in the film Mean Girls directed by Mark Waters and written by Tina Fey.
