Rachel Lindsay has plans to leave the ‘Bachelor’ franchise

Last Modified: 9th Sep

Rachel Lindsay is now ready to move on from the “Bachelor” franchise following series of problematic scandals involving race on the reality show.

The 35-year-old said on her podcast, “I can’t take it anymore. I’m contractually bound in some ways. But when it’s up, I am too. I can’t do it anymore.”

The Dallas attorney was chosen as the first black Bachelorette in 2017 after appearing on Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor. She currently hosts the official Bachelor Happy Tour podcast.

In the past, she has been vocal about the show’s lack of diversity, particularly the absence of a black male lead which was prior to the current “Bachelor” Matt James.

“When I look at what’s happening in our country, and then I look at the franchise, I can’t continue to be affiliated — it’s embarrassing honestly at this point — to be affiliated with a franchise who is not on the right side of this.” she had said to Page Six amid the Black Lives Matter movement last June.
