Rita Ora confirms ‘prefect’ wedding to Taika Waititi
Rita Ora, 32, has finally confirmed the rumors that she and director Taika Waititi, 47, had tied the knot.
During an interview with UK’s Heart Breakfast, the singer revealed, “Yes … I am officially off the market. Putting out a new single and it really being inspired by where I’m at in my life, I knew the questions were gonna come.”
Admitting that she wanted to “play on” the “is she, is she not?” chatter, she just released her wedding-themed music video for You Only Love Me.
“I wanted to do a wedding that didn’t really go to plan … but that’s not to say that’s what actually happened,” she shared adding that the wedding was actually “perfect.”
She further gushed about the private wedding ceremony, “It was just exactly, exactly how I wanted it. It was just nice and perfect, completely how I wanted it. … Sorry, it’s not that interesting. One day we’ll throw a big party.”
News of their wedding caught fire after The Sun reported in August 2022 that Ora and Waititi had tied the knot in London. Although the outlet has claimed that she had taken her husband’s last name, she denied it saying she has no plans to ditch her maiden name which she worked “very hard for.”
The couple was first linked in May 2021 after they were spotted vacationing in Sydney, Australia.
