‘Selling Sunset’ star Maya Vander, husband Dave Miller welcome rainbow baby

Last Modified: 9th Sep

The “Selling Sunset” alum Maya Vander welcomed daughter Emma Reign with her husband Dave Miller in early May 2023 at Baptist Hospital in Miami. Previously, she had suffered two losses – a stillbirth at 38 weeks in December 2021 and a miscarriage in 2022.

The 40-year-old luxury real estate agent told PEOPLE, “I kept the pregnancy very quiet until the end. I am feeling so much relief now that I delivered, and we are both safe.”

“I got induced at 37 weeks. Given I had my stillbirth at 38, my doctor didn't want to take any chances, even monitoring me twice a week towards the end. I got induced and had a vaginal delivery, like all my children," Vander added.

Despite a "fast" delivery, she did have a scare as the infant’s heartbeat dropped.

The new mom explained, “Her heartbeat dropped as I was pushing. It turned out that the cord was around the neck. It was scarier, given my recent loss. My husband was extremely worried, and I was focused on getting her out. My gyno, Dr. Senemar was amazing, as well as the nurses."

Speaking of the name they chose for their newborn, she revealed they named her Emma since “it sounds good with Aiden and Elle.”

“As for Reign, she rules like a queen, and I love that it is a strong meaning; we felt that Emma Reign was perfect for her,” she added.

Vander and Miller, who have been married since 2017, are also parents to son Aiden, 4, and daughter Elle, 2.

Back in July 2021, Vander announced she was pregnant with her third child. Tragically, her son Mason passed away at 38 weeks.

She wrote in a December 2021 Instagram post, “Yesterday was the hardest day of my life. Instead of delivering a baby, I get to go home with a memory box. I do not wish this on anyone.”

After suffering a miscarriage in June 2022, she shared on her Instagram story, “I had a very crazy week. Miscarriage after 10 weeks … following my stillbirth … but my kids and my husband are absolutely my blessing and I am so lucky to be their mother!”

The couple kept their latest pregnancy “quiet on social media” and only confirmed the pregnancy on May 4 – adding that a baby girl is on the way “any day now.”

“It’s exciting, but also this time around I have more fears and more concerns given the last circumstances,” she explained.
