‘Sex and the City’ star Jason Lewis not reprised for reboot
Sex and the City hunk Jason Lewis, who played young model beau Smith Jerrod of Samantha on the show, has not been asked back for the reboot on HBO Max.
He told the Daily Front Row, “I have not, but I would be the last to know! As much as I appreciate the flattery, the conversation is about the girls.”
Lewis shared his ideas about what happened to Jerrod who was struggling to make it as a serious actor. “I think he went into production,” he says, “He was a lifter of others, so he would have moved past [acting]. Which is where we differ! But I think he would still be in the industry.”
Other cast members have also not been asked to come back on the reprised show. In February it was reported that Chris Noth, who played the iconic Mr. Big, is currently not in the reboot. It is unclear if John Corbett’s Aiden would be returning while it has been confirmed that Kim Cattrall, who played p.r. whiz Samantha Jones is off the series.
In December 2020 PageSix confirmed that the Sex and the City franchise was on the way for a reboot on HBO Max as limited series. In January, actress Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed that there would be a 10-episode revival - And Just Like That.
