‘Stranger Things’ actor Noah Schnapp comes out as gay after 18th birthday
Stranger Things actor Noah Schnapp has come out as gay.
The 18-year-old actor, who rose to fame playing Will Byers in the hit Netflix science fiction horror series, took to TikTok to come out of the closet to his 31.4 million followers. He wrote that his loved ones already knew about his sexual orientation when he worked up the courage to come out to them.
“When I finally told my friends and family I was gay after being scared in the closet for 18 years and all they said was ‘we know,'” he wrote in the clip.
Schnapp, who is currently a freshman at the University of Pennsylvania, captioned the post, “I guess I’m more similar to will than I thought.”
Stranger Things viewers had previously speculated if Schnapp’s character Will Byers is of the LGBTQIA+ community, which he had confirmed in July 2022 interview with Variety, “He is gay, and he does love Mike.”
