Adam Carolla’s birth took place on May 27, 1964. His birthplace is in Los Angeles County, California, U.S.A. and as his parents did not give him a middle name, his full name is Adam Carolla as well.
But while applying for a driver’s license, he joked his middle name is "Lakers" and the application was processed without notice. He also has used other 3 middle names including “Ace”.
His parents are Jim Carolla, a psychologist, and Kris McCall, a recipient of welfare with a degree in Chicano studies. He has a sibling too- an older sister named Lauryn Carolla who is now married to an architect. Lauryn also ran a podcast named Carolla’s Sister.
Carolla also has other famous names in the family. His step-grandfather was László Görög, Oscar-nominated screenwriter who wrote The Mole People.

Adam Carolla was raised in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and later in the North Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles where he studied at the Colfax Elementary School, Walter Reed Junior High, and North Hollywood High School.
But he did not receive his high school diploma for years as it was held by the school for evading a library fine. In the 2005 episode of The Adam Carolla Project, he was seen paying off the book and receiving his diploma. While in his teenage years, he played Pop Warner football for seven years.
He also briefly attended Los Angeles Valley College before dropping out.
His ethnicity is Italian and Irish.

He married his longtime girlfriend Lynette Paradise on 28 September 2002. He and his wife have two children who are twins - daughter Natalia Carolla and son Santino "Sonny" Richard Carolla - born on June 7, 2006.
After 19 years of marriage, Adam Carolla announced in May 2021 that he is getting a divorce.

Before fame
After dropping out of high school and moving from his parent's home at 18, he struggled as a comedian and actor. He had a series of odd jobs and had worked as a carpet cleaner, carpenter, boxing instructor, and traffic school instructor. Even though he and his friends were broke, they did own a 1963 Cadillac limousine.
Adam Carolla studied improvisational comedy with The Groundlings and also was a member of the ACME Comedy Theatre troupe in the 1990s. He finally received his big break with Jay Leno.

He was also a contestant on 2008’s Dancing with the Stars and was partnered with Julianne Hough. The dancing duo was voted off on April 8, 2008, episode. In February 2012, he entered the 12th season of NBC's The Celebrity Apprentice as a contestant but was fired by Trump in week 4.
