Who is Lavell Crawford?

Lavell Crawford is an actor, comedian by profession, and American by nationality. He is best known for playing Huell Babineaux in Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and in the film The Ridiculous 6.

Lavell Crawford – Bio, Age, Parents, Siblings

Lavell Crawford’s birth took place on November 11, 1968, in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. He was born Lavell Maurice Crawford to his mother Annita Crawford and his father Daryl Crawford, a bodybuilder. He is not the only child of his parents and has two siblings- sisters Elonda Goodwin and Erica Roach.

He and his sisters were raised by their single mother after their father abandoned their family. In 2010 Lavell Crawford reunited with his father. The reunion came after understanding that his father was gay and had left the family due to failure to explain his sexuality. His father passed away in 2015.

Growing up Lavell Crawford struggled with his weight and almost drowned at the age of 10. For education he attended Pattonville High School, graduating in 1986.

His ethnicity is African-American.

Lavell Crawford – Girlfriend, Wife, Children, Divorce

Lavell Crawford married his longtime girlfriend DeShawn Crawford on February 15, 2009. He and his wife have welcomed three children together. Their youngest son LJ Crawford was born in 2010. They are also parents to two older children, a son, and a daughter. The couple is living without rumors of extra-marital affairs and divorce.

On May 14, 2017, Instagram post, Lavell Crawford captioned a picture of his wife,

“This beautiful lady is my wife I celebrate her twice this weekend because of her Birthday and because she is one of the most incredible mothers besides my mom she blessed me with three wonderful children who I cherish and she puts a smile on my face every time I look at her I love her more than this universe can take so happy Mother's Day boo this is your weekend my queen”

Early Days

Crawford began his career in the 1990s as a comedian. He frequently performed on BET's ComicView. In 2007 he competed on NBC's Last Comic Standing, where he finished in second place. In 2011, he recorded his comic album Lavell Crawford: Can a Brother Get Some Love.

As an actor, Lavell Crawford is well known for starring in Breaking Bad as Huell Babineaux and its 2017 spin-off series Better Call Saul. Over the years he has also starred in It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Tosh.0, American Ultra (2015), Squidbillies, Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell, and The Ridiculous 6 (2015), among others.

Lavell Crawford has had appearances in The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, Aqua TV Show Show as Unbelievable Ron, Workaholics, and in J-Kwon’s music video for Tipsy.

In 2016 Crawford lost 120 pounds.
