Anitra Mecadon is a TV host, interior designer by profession, and American by nationality. She is best known for hosting DIY Network’s Mega Dens and appearances on HGTV’s All-American Handyman and Behind the Build: HGTV Dream Home.

Anitra Mecadon’s birth took place on April 15, 1977, in the USA. She was born to her mother, Gigi Mecadon, and her father, Jefe Mecadon. She was raised by her parents alongside her two siblings- brother Fran Mecadon and older sister Dr. Pilar Labriola, who is now a Chiropractor and Co-owner of Chiro Health Spa.

After graduating from high school, Anitra Mecadon went on to study at the University of Scranton in 1995. She graduated from the same institution in 1999 with a degree in interior design. She also has a strong background in art and theater.

Early Days

Following graduation, Mecadon began working as an interior designer. For the next 10 years, she designed restaurants, residences, boutiques, galleries, and other spaces in Atlanta. She is now the owner of Plum Avocado Design Studio in the Greater Atlanta Area.
