Who is Anjelica Huston?

Anjelica Huston is an actress, director, producer, author, former fashion model by profession, and American by nationality. She is best known for her role in Enemies: A Love Story, The Grifters, and is the third generation of her family to receive an Academy Award.

Anjelica Huston was born on July 8, 1951, in Santa Monica, California, USA. She was born to her father John Huston, a director and actor, and her mother Enrica Soma, a model, and prima ballerina. Her grandfather was Walter Huston, an Academy Award-winning Canadian-born actor.

She has four siblings, an older brother named Tony Huston, who is now an actor, writer, and assistant director. She also has two half-siblings, a younger maternal half-sister named Allegra Huston and a younger paternal half-brother, actor Danny Huston. She also has an adopted older brother named Pablo.

Education, Ethnicity

Huston spent most of her childhood in Ireland and later lived in England, where she attended Holland Park School. She also studied at St Mary's Town and Country School and studied acting in the 1980s.

Her ethnicity includes Scottish, English, Welsh, Irish, and Italian.

Anjelica Huston – Boyfriend, Husband, Children, Divorce

When Anjelica Huston was a teenager, she dated James Fox. At the age of 18, she began a relationship with photographer Bob Richardson, who was 23 years her senior. She and her boyfriend Richardson were in the relationship for almost four years.

After the breakup, she dated Jack Nicholson after meeting in 1973 on-off relationship. During one of their break-ups in the 1970s, Anjelica Huston was in a relationship with Ryan O'Neal who allegedly assaulted her.

Huston and Nicholson broke up for the last time in 1990 after the media reported he had fathered a child with Rebecca Broussard. He gifted her a pearl and diamond bracelet which had once been a gift from Frank Sinatra to Ava Gardner as a way of concluding their relationship.

She dated and married her fiancé sculptor Robert Graham on May 23, 1992, in a star-studded wedding. She was married to her husband until his death on December 27, 2008. From all her relationships, she does not have children.

Anjelica Huston – Career

Before fame

Huston began her career young and in the late 1960s, she began to star in her father's movies. In 1969 she starred in A Walk with Love and Death. After her mother’s death in the same year, she moved to the United States where she modeling for years.

Then along with Pat Cleveland, Pat Ast, Karen Bjornson, Alva Chinn, and others, they earned the name Halstonettes. In 1981, Anjelica Huston again returned to acting.

Since the 1980s, Anjelica Huston has starred in The Postman Always Rings Twice, Prizzi's Honor (1985), Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989), The Grifters (1990), The Dead (1987), The Addams Family (1991), Addams Family Values (1993), Manhattan Murder Mystery (1993) Ever After: A Cinderella Story (1998), The Royal Tenenbaums (2001),  Horrid Henry: The Movie (2011), John Wick.

Huston has followed her father’s footsteps into directing. Her directorial credit includes Bastard Out of Carolina (1996), Agnes Browne (1999), and Riding the Bus with My Sister (2005), among others.

Her memoir, Watch Me: A Memoir was published in two volumes.
