Who is Carlos PenaVega?

Carlos PenaVega is an actor, singer, and YouTuber by profession, and American by nationality. He is well known for starring in Big Time Rush as Carlos García, host of the game show Webheads and member of the band Big Time Rush.

Carlos PenaVega’s birth took place on August 15, 1989, in Columbia, Missouri, USA. He was born Carlos Roberto Pena Jr. to his Spanish and Venezuelan father Carlos Roberto Pena Sr. and his Dominican mother Margarita Pena. 

He is not the only child of his parents and has three siblings- brothers Antonio Pena, Andres Pena, and Javi Pena.

Having grown up in Weston, Florida, Carlos PenaVega attended Sagemont Upper School. He also attended Boston Conservatory (where he studied musical theater) and American Heritage School. 

His ethnicity is multi-ethnic (Spanish, Venezuelan, Dominican).

Carlos PenaVega – Girlfriend, Wife, Children, Divorce

He was in a long-term relationship with Chelsea Ricketts. They broke up in 2010.

After a few dates, he got engaged to his longtime girlfriend Alexa Vega in August 2013. The couple married on January 4, 2014, in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Both combined their last name and took PenaVega as their married name. 

With his wife he has welcomed three children- sons Ocean King PenaVega (born December 7, 2016) and Kingston James PenaVega (born June 30, 2019), and daughter Rio Rey PenaVega (born in May 2021).

There are no rumors of divorce surrounding the pair.

Early Career

PenaVega began acting at an early age- appearing in local productions of Grease, Man of La Mancha, and Titanic. His first acting role was in an episode of ER followed by guest roles in Judging Amy, Summerland, Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, and several commercials.

In Music

Carlos PenaVega joined the pop band Big Time Rush in 2009. For five successive years, until 2014, the band released three studio albums- BTR (2010), Elevate (2011), and 24/Seven (2013) and has five tours.

After Big Time Rush disbanded in 2014, he released two singles - Electrico in 2014 and Bésame in 2017.

As an actor, PenaVega has starred in films The Hangover Hollywood (2011), Little Birds (2011), Spare Parts (2015), Killing Hasselhoff (2017), and Picture Perfect (2019), among others. 

He has also had guest roles in the TV series Nick News (2011), Marvin Marvin (2013), Instant Mom (2015), and Blue's Clues & You! (2020). While Carlos PenaVega had main roles in the TV series Big Time Rush (2009-2013), Life Sentence (2018), and The Casagrandes (2019-present), he starred in Hallmark films Enchanted Christmas (2017), Love at Sea (2018), A Midnight Kiss (2018), etc.
