Conan O'Brien was born Conan Christopher O'Brien on April 18, 1963. His birthplace is Boston, Massachusetts, USA. His father Thomas Francis O'Brien is a well-educated man and worked as a physician, epidemiologist, and professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School. Likewise, his mother Ruth O'Brien is a retired attorney and former partner of the firm Ropes & Gray.
O'Brien is one of their six children. Conan O'Brien's siblings are - brothers Justin O'Brien, Luke O'Brien, and Neal O'Brien, and his sisters are Kate B. O'Brien and Jane O'Brien.

O'Brien was educated at Brookline High School, graduating from the same in 1981 as valedictorian. He then attended Harvard University. He graduated in 1985 with a BA in American History & Literature and magna cum laude.

He is a happily married man. He met his future wife Elizabeth Ann Powel in 2000. She had appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien for advertisement purposes. Back then she used to work for Foote, Cone & Belding as a senior copywriter.
After 18 months of dating, they married on January 12, 2002. They have two children together, daughter Neve O'Brien who was born on October 14, 2003, and son Beckett O'Brien who was born on November 9, 2005.

Conan O'Brien – Career
Early Days
After his graduation, O'Brien moved to Los Angeles and worked as a writer. For several years, he wrote for Not Necessarily the News, The Wilton North Report. In January 1988, he was hired by Saturday Night Live's executive producer, Lorne Michaels as a writer. He worked there until 1991.
He then took up a job as a writer for The Simpsons in 1991, working there till 1993. The same year he was selected to host NBC's show Late Night. On September 13, 1993, Late Night with Conan O'Brien premiered for the first time.
The episode received a wide range of criticism, which slowly improved. Now after more than 25 years, his show Late Night with Conan O'Brien is one of the most viewed shows in the world. Conan O'Brien also hosted NBC's The Tonight Show for a short stint of time from 2009 to 2010. The final episode featuring Conan O'Brien was aired on January 22, 2010.

O'Brien's first tour began on April 12, 2010, and was entitled The Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour. On April 12, 2010, his two-month comedy tour took a start in Eugene, Oregon.
