Who is Domantas Sabonis?
Domantas Sabonis is a basketball player by profession and American, Lithuanian by nationality. He currently plays as a Center / Power forward for the Indiana Pacers of the National Basketball Association (NBA), having played in Spain for Unicaja Malaga's junior and senior teams, college basketball for Gonzaga, and for Oklahoma City Thunder.

Domantas Sabonis’ birth took place on May 3, 1996, in Portland, Oregon, USA. He was born to mother Ingrida Mikelionyte and father Arvydas Sabonis Sr., a retired & decorated Lithuanian basketball player.
He is not the only child of his parents and has three siblings – brothers Tautvydas Sabonis, Zygimantas Sabonis, and sister Ausrine Sabonis.

After graduating from high school Domantas Sabonis went on to study at Gonzaga University where he played college basketball for two seasons from 2014- 2016.

Domantas Sabonis is in a relationship with his girlfriend Shashana Rosen. She is a former Laker Girls dancer for the Los Angeles Lakers and the founder of The Movement - LA and co-founder of The Company and Superstars Dance Studio.
In September 2020 he announced his engagement to Rosen on Instagram. The couple married in 2021.
He and his wife welcomed their son Arvydas Sabonis Jr. on March 11, 2022.

College games
At the age of 16, Domantas Sabonis played for Unicaja Málaga against Cibona Zagreb on September 5, 2012. Later he was loaned to Clínicas Rincón, where he played the 2012–13 season and returned to Málaga for the 2013–14 season.
In 2014 Sabonis declined a 3-year $630,000 contract to play in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). He played for Gonzaga University for two seasons from 2014 to 2016.

Professional games
In early April 2016 Domantas Sabonis, it was reported that he would mark an end to his career at Gonzaga, hire an agent and declare himself eligible for the 2016 NBA draft.
Sabonis was selected in the 2016 NBA draft by the Orlando Magic in the 11th overall. The same night he was traded to Oklahoma City Thunder but did not participate in the 2016 NBA Summer League in order to join the Lithuania men's national basketball team training camp.
After signing his rookie contract with the Thunder on August 12, 2016, Domantas Sabonis made his debut on October 26. He played for the Oklahoma City Thunder until 2017, having traded to the Indiana Pacers on July 6, 2017.

National Games
In addition to club games, Domantas Sabonis has also played in international games. He played with Lithuania's U-16 national team at the 2012 FIBA U-16 European Championship and Lithuania's U-18 team at the 2013 FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship.
After making it into the preliminary 24 players list of Lithuania men's national basketball team, Domantas Sabonis has played in FIBA Europe Under-18 Championship, the 2015 FIBA Europe Under-20 Championship, EuroBasket 2015, and the 2016 Summer Olympics.
