Who is Finn Jones?

Finn Jones is an actor by profession and British by nationality. He is best known for portraying Loras Tyrell in the HBO series Game of Thrones, as Danny Rand in Iron Fist, The Defenders (2017), and Luke Cage (2018).

Finn Jones – Age, Parents, Siblings

Finn Jones’ birth took place on 24 March 1988 in London, England. He was born Terence "Terry" Jones. He changed his name to Finn Jones so as to avoid confusion with Welsh actor, comedian, and writer Terry Jones. 

The childhood and upbringing of Jones are a bit different from others. He spent the first two years of his life in foster care before finally being adopted. His adoptive mother is a caregiver of children while his adoptive father is a private investigator. No more is known of his biological parents, adoptive parents, or siblings.

Education, Ethnicity

For education, he attended Hayes School and later received training at the Arts Educational Schools in acting for three years.

His ethnicity is English.

Finn Jones – Gay, Girlfriend, Children

Finn Jones’ character Loras Tyrell in Game of Thrones is homosexual/gay. He appeared in the February 2013 issue of Gay Times magazine. He also commented on his character’s sexuality and thereafter,

"In terms of the gay community, I’ve got a very strong reaction that people are happy with it, happy that gay characters are being portrayed but not in a sensationalized or stereotyped way, and they’re being put into a world that is a very masculine, hard world. I hope that they think that we’re not stereotyping them."

Due to this many people thought he was gay. However, he has denied the rumors and is, in fact, a straight man. Moreover, he is a vocal supporter of LGBT and other social causes such as racial and gender equality.

Jones is currently single, sans girlfriend. In fact, there are no records of him dating anyone. However, he is very close with his Iron Fist co-star Jessica Henwick which has got the fans thinking that they are actually dating.

Before fame

Finn Jones began his professional career in 2008. Finally, in 2009, he landed his debut role as Jamie in Hollyoaks Later and reprised the same role in 2010’s Hollyoaks for a total of 9 episodes.

He soon had appearances in The Sarah Jane Adventures (2010), The Bill (2010), and Doctors (2010-2011). Finally, in 2011, Jones landed his breakthrough role as Loras Tyrell in Game of Thrones (2010-2016).

Film, Series

Since 2010, Finn Jones has appeared in the series Life in Squares (2015). He played Danny Rand / Iron Fist In Marvel’s The Defenders (2017), Luke Cage (2018), and the lead character in Iron Fist (2017-2018).

Jones has also starred in films including Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines (2012), The Last Showing (2014), and Leatherface (2017), among others.

In addition to acting, he has also started his career as a musician. Jones has uploaded several tracks on SoundCloud including Good Vibrations, and Love Games, among others.
