Gary Sinise is an actor, director, musician by profession, and American by nationality. The Emmy Award, and Golden Globe Award winner is best known for his work in Of Mice and Men, Forrest Gump, Apollo 13, and Truman.

Gary Sinise’s birth took place on March 17, 1955, in Blue Island, Illinois, USA. He was born Gary Alan Sinise to his mother Mylles Sinise and his father Robert L. Sinise, a film editor. He is not the only child of his parents and has two siblings- brother Craig Sinise and sister Lori Sinise.

For education, Gary Sinise attended Glenbard West High School, later studying at Highland Park High School. After graduation in 1974, he enrolled at Illinois State University. His ethnicity includes Italian, English, Scottish, Irish, French, German, and Swedish.

Sinise married his longtime girlfriend actress Moira Harris in 1981. He and his wife have welcomed three children together- daughters Sophie Sinise (born November 9, 1988), Ella Sinise (born 1992), and son McCanna Anthony Sinise (born November 10, 1990).

Gary Sinise – Career

Before Fame

Gary Sinise began his professional career as an actor in 1973. His first roles were in the TV series Knots Landing (1980) and in the film A Wedding (1978), for which he was uncredited. His career began to take off in 1982 with the production of True West, which Sinise had directed as well as acted in.

Along with fellow high-school graduates, he started the Steppenwolf Theater Company which is currently an institution housed in an $8 million theater.

Since his rise to fame in 1982, Gary Sinise has worked in Of Mice and Men (1992), Forrest Gump (1994), Apollo 13 (1995), Ransom (1996), Bruno (2000), Open Season (2006), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Good Joe Bell.

In TV series, Gary Sinise has had appearances in Crime Story (1986-1987), The Stand (1994), CSI: NY (2004-2013), Missions That Changed the War (2010-2012), Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders (2016-2017).

Co-stars

Sinise has worked with Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Sally Field, and Mykelti Williamson on the set of Forrest Gump.
