Jacob Anderson is an actor, singer, songwriter, rapper, and record producer by profession and British by nationality. His best-known role is in Game of Thrones as Grey Worm. Using the stage name Raleigh Ritchie, he released his debut album You're a Man Now, Boy in 2016, which reached no. 32 on the UK charts.

Jacob Anderson’s birth took place on 18 June 1990 as Jacob Basil Anderson. His birthplace is in Bristol, England, being born to a father of Afro-Caribbean descent. He has not shared the details of his mother. His uncle is actor Paul Anderson.

His parents divorced when he was 18 months old and his father soon remarried. Through his father's subsequent marriage, who now works as an undertaker, he has half-sisters, although he has not revealed details. He also has a brother named Alfie Anderson.

Jacob Anderson began dating actress Aisling Loftus in 2011. Loftus is best known for her role as Sofia Rostova in War & Peace and as Gun Shy in the short film Jade.

After years of a romantic relationship, the couple married in December 2018, in a private wedding ceremony surrounded by close family and friends. In mid-2020 he shared the first picture of his child, a daughter. There are no rumors of divorce surrounding the pair.

Before fame

Jacob Anderson was 17 when he moved to London, for a change of scene and keen to rush into adulthood. In London, he did not know many people, became depressed, and sought therapy. 

The same year in 2007, he began to land minor roles in TV series such as Doctors and The Bill followed by roles in Primeval (2008), Injustice (2011), Silent Witness (2012), and Episodes (2013). In those years, he was also able to claim roles in films such as Adulthood (2008), Chatroom (2010), Demons Never Die (2011), and Offender (2012).

Anderson became the series regular in The Mimic before landing his breakthrough role as Grey Worm in the hit series Game of Thrones (2013- present). Since then he has starred in the TV series Broadchurch (2013) and the movie Overlord (2018). 

His debut album You're a Man Now, Boy under the stage name Raleigh Ritchie was released in February 2016. Anderson has also released a series of Extended plays (EP)- The Middle Child (June 2013), Black and Blue (January 2014), Black and Blue Point Two (April 2014), and Mind the Gap (December 2016).
