Who is Jarrett Culver?

Jarrett Culver is a basketball player by profession and American by nationality. He is a player for the Minnesota Timberwolves of the National Basketball Association (NBA), having played for Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Jarrett Culver’s birth took place on February 20, 1999, in Lubbock, Texas, USA. He was born to his father Hiawatha Culver Jr., a pastor & chaplain of the Texas Tech basketball team, and his mother Regina Culver. 

He is not the only child of his parents and has two siblings – older brother Trey Culver, a former Texas track team member, and another brother J.J. Culver, who is leading the Wayland Baptist basketball team.

For education, Jarrett Culver attended Coronado High School. After graduation, he enrolled at Texas Tech University in 2017. His ethnicity is African-American.

On 22, 2016 he was a consensus three-star recruit and committed to Texas Tech and his debut game with the team was on November 10, 2017. With the team in his freshman season, Jarrett Culver played games against South Alabama, Wofford, Savannah State, and West Virginia.

Professional Career

In the 2019 NBA Draft, he was selected as the sixth pick by Phoenix Suns. However, he was immediately traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Dario Saric.

He was named Lone Star Varsity Player of the Year by Lubbock Avalanche-Journal twice, Big 12 Conference Newcomer of the Week, Big 12 Player of the Year (2019), Final Four All-Tournament Team (2019), NABC All-America 3rd-Team (2019) among numerous others.
