After a few odd jobs, she started working at WPTZ in Plattsburgh as the station's first female correspondent. There she covered stories ranging from local to national including 1980 winter Olympic Games in Lake Placid, New York.
Jeanne Moos left WPTZ in 1981 to join CNN as a reporter. There she covered numerous stories including political corruption, United Nations during the 1991 Gulf War. In the 1990s, she began covering unusual and off-beat soft news stories and in 1995 began a series of reports called Making The MOOSt Of It.
