Jodhi May is an actress, writer by profession, and British by nationality. She is well known for starring in The Last of the Mohicans, Sister My Sister, and A Quiet Passion. She is the youngest recipient of the Cannes Film Festival's Best Actress and portrayed Maggy the frog in Game of Thrones.

Jodhi May’s birth took place on 8 May 1975 in Camden Town, London, England. She was born Jodhi Tania Edwards but later changed her name to Jodhi Tania May. She was born to her mother Jocelyn Hakim and a German father, whose name has not been shared with the public. Also, she has not shared if she has any siblings.
May’s mother is of French-Turkish descent and an art teacher, who as a student paid artist-designer Malcolm McLaren £50 to marry her so that she could obtain citizenship. The marriage, which occurred in 1972 and ended in divorce, cost McLaren's grandmother £2,000.

Jodhi May began acting when she was just 12 years old. Her first role was in the 1988 film A World Apart, for which she was awarded the Best Actress award at the 1988 Cannes Film Festival and shared it with fellow stars Barbara Hershey and Linda Mvusi.
May continued to act regularly through her teenage years.
