Julie Ertz is a soccer/football player by profession and American by nationality. She plays as a midfielder for the Chicago Red Stars of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) and is a FIFA Women's World Cup champion.

Julie Ertz married her longtime boyfriend Zach Ertz on 26 March 2017. Her husband is a tight end for the Philadelphia Eagles in the National Football League.
The couple had met in college while attending a Stanford Cardinal baseball game. After years of dating, Zach Ertz proposed to Julie Ertz in February 2016 at the same baseball stadium where they met.
They welcomed their first child together- son Madden Matthew Ertz on August 11, 2022. They are happily married without no rumors of extra-marital affairs or divorce.

College games
In 2010, Julie Ertz played in 20 games as a college freshman. She was named WCC Freshman of the Year and in her sophomore year, she played in 21 games with nine goals and four assists.
In 2012, she played in 14 of the 15 games with eight goals and five assists. In Ertz’s senior year, she played in 22 games with eight assists and four game-winning goals.

With the club
On January 17, 2014, Chicago Red Stars selected Julie Ertz in the first round of the 2014 NWSL College Draft. With the team, she has played against clubs like Western New York Flash, Boston Breakers, FC Kansas City, Washington Spirit, North Carolina Courage, etc.
In the 2014 season, she played in 21 matches, scored two goals, and was named NWSL Rookie of the Year. In the 2015 season with the Chicago Red Stars, Julie Ertz made 11 appearances, playing 990 minutes, and was named to the NWSL Best XI.
In the 2016 season, she made a total of twelve appearances before joining the United States women's national team in preparation for the 2016 Summer Olympics. For the 2017 season, Ertz debuted as an attacking midfield and was named to NWSL Second XI.
The following season, Julie Ertz was unable to play in the beginning games of the 2018 National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) season as she was recovering from a knee injury. That year she played in 15 games but lost to North Carolina Courage in the semi-finals.

Outside of club games, Julie Ertz has played for Youth national teams, Senior national team, and in 2015, she played in FIFA World Cup, Algarve Cup, and the 2016 SheBelieves Cup.
