Lana Parrilla was born on July 15, 1977, in New York City, USA. Her full name is Lana Maria Parrilla. Her mother Dolores Dee Azzara is of Sicilian ancestry while her father Sam Parrilla is a Puerto Rican.
Her mother worked as a bank professional and her father was a professional baseball player, having played for eleven seasons (1963–73) including in Major League Philadelphia Phillies as an outfielder in 1970. She also has a sibling- a sister named Deena Parrilla.
Her parents divorced when she was three years old and she lived with her mother. At the age of 10, she began to live with her father. Sadly he a fatally shot a few years later.
She has another famous personality in her family- her aunt is Candice Azzara, an American Broadway, and TV actress.

However, the marriage was short-lived as they separated and eventually divorced. Their divorce was finalized on November 5, 2018. She revealed her divorce via an Instagram post on April 13, 2019.

Parrilla began her professional career in 1999. Her debut screen role was in an episode of the TV series Grown Ups the same year.
