Neal McDonough is an actor, producer by profession, and American by nationality. He is well known for Band of Brothers, Suits, Desperate Housewives, Arrow, and Star Trek: First Contact.

Neal McDonough’s birth took place on February 13, 1966, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, USA. He was born Neal P. McDonough to his mother Catherine McDonough and his father Frank McDonough who were both motel owners and had emigrated from Ireland.
He is not the only child of his parents and has 6 siblings- 4 brothers and 2 sisters. His three brothers are named Gerard McDonough, John M. McDonough, and Robert McDonough, and sister of his is named Ellen McDonough.

For education Neal McDonough attended Barnstable High School, graduating from the same. He then went on to study at Syracuse University and graduated from the same in 1988 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
McDonough played baseball and had even obtained several college scholarships to play baseball. But he had joined Syracuse University as he thought it had the best theatre department. His ethnicity is Irish.

Neal McDonough married his longtime girlfriend Ruve Robertson on 1 December 2003. Robertson is a South African model and they had first met while filming Band of Brothers.
He and his wife have 5 children together- son Morgan "Little Buck" Patrick McDonough (born November 28, 2005), James Hamilton McDonough (born March 31, 2014), and daughters Catherine Maggie McDonough (born May 14, 2007), London Jane McDonough (born January 11, 2010), Clover Elizabeth McDonough (born August 15, 2011).
As of 2020 he is happily married and is in a blissful marriage without rumors of extra-marital affairs and divorce.
McDonough is a devout Catholic. He was fired from Scoundrels for refusing to do sex scenes, citing his family and Catholic faith as a basis for his choice.

Early Career
A couple of years after graduating from college, Neal McDonough landed a minor role in an episode of China Beach followed by appearances on White Dwarf (1995), and NYPD Blue (1996), and lent his voice in The Incredible Hulk (1996-1997).
He also had supporting roles in Angels in the Outfield (1994), Star Trek: First Contact (1996), and A Perfect Little Man (1999).

Films, Series
Finally, in 2001, Neal McDonough landed the role of First Lieutenant Lynn "Buck" Compton in 8 episodes of Band of Brothers (2001).
Since then he has starred in the TV series Boomtown (2002), Medical Investigation (2004-2005), Desperate Housewives (2008-2009), Suits (2014-2019), and Yellowstone (2019).
Neal McDonough has also portrayed characters in films The Guardian (2006), Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (2009), Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Red 2 (2013), Proud Mary (2018), Sonic the Hedgehog (2020).
