Paola Lázaro was born on October 24, 1994 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Her full name is Paola Lázaro-Munoz, her mother’s name is Bella Lazaro-Munoz and her father’s name is Sorbeto Lazaro-Munoz. She is not the only child of his parents and has two siblings- older brothers Gabriel Lazaro-Munoz and Daniel Lazaro-Munoz who are twins.

After completing her primary education, Paola Lázaro moved to the USA to study at the State University of New York at Purchase where she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dramatic writing in 2009. She earned a Master of Fine Arts degree from Columbia University in 2013. Having been mentored by playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis for her thesis play, she also participated in the Emerging Young Writer's Group.

Playwright, Theatre
Soon after college graduation, Lázaro worked with Labyrinth Theatre Company on a summer program and also received an Arts Entertainment Scholarship Award from the National Hispanic Foundation for the Arts.
Paola Lázaro has found success as a playwright as well. She was asked to join New York’s Atlantic Theatre Company as playwright-in-residence for the 2016–2017 season with a focus on her new play Tell Hector I Miss Him (2017). The play which was directed by Latino David Mendizabal was a success with the run extended due to popular demand.
Moreover, she has performed in Cherry Lane Theatre's production of To the Bone, written by Lisa Ramirez.

Early Days
Her career as a TV actress began in 2015, in the TV short So, Then Tell Me which was later turned into TV series in 2016. This was followed by appearances in the films Scenes from the Underground (2016), Pimp (2018), and the TV series Dichos (2018), etc. Finally, in 2018 Paola Lázaro was cast as Gutierrez in the TV series Lethal Weapon. She portrayed the character for a total of 7 episodes, until 2019.

Over the years Lázaro has portrayed characters in the film Black Bear (2020), the TV movie Shelter, and in the episode(s) of the TV series SMILF (2019), Wu-Tang: An American Saga (2019), Patty's Auto. Since 2020 she has been playing Juanita “Princess” Sanchez on season 10 of The Walking Dead and will be starring in season 11 (final season) of the horror drama series.
